PROJECTS/

Feasibility Study (F.S.) Regarding the Construction of Four (4) Main Compressor Stations for the Proposed Gas Pipeline "Yamal-Center" in the Yamal-Nenets Region of the Russian Federation.

Project Goal: This project, fulfilled by BSI Industries, Inc., is interesting from the point of view of the complex engineering requirements for regions of the far north - the area proposed for construction. The enormous underwater crossing of Baidaratskii Bay, the significant distance from industrial centers, and the lack of any existing infrastructure required a non-tradional approach to the selection of turbo compressors, cooling and gas-generator equipment for the compressor stations, and the facilities for gas cooling and electric power stations required to cover the needs of the facilities.

Location: Yamal Peninsula in the Russian Federation

Client: RAO Gazprom - Russian Federation

Project Scope: Basic design and consulting for four head compressor stations and gas cooling units; presentation and review of the design with the participation of Gazprom management. Basic design included hydraulic calculations, main process and functional schematics, layout of the main equipment and pipelines, description of the processes, specifications of the main types of equipment, pipeline classification, environmental impact report, etc.

Start and Completion Date: 1992 -1993
